The closing of your mortgage loan is the point in time when the title to the property is officially conveyed to you. In short, it is when you become the formal owner of the property and take on the responsibility of paying for the property. Closings usually take place at the office of a title company or attorney in your area who will act as your agent. If you are purchasing a new home, the seller may also be at the closing to transfer ownership. During the closing, you will be reviewing and signing various loan papers.
