IMG FastFacts: Picking the Best Mortgage
Program.
. The most common type of loan is a fixed interest rate mortgage. This type of loan offers the same mortgage payment for the life of the loan, usually 10, 15, 20 or 30 years. An adjustable rate mortgage (ARM) periodically changes the interest rate as interest rates change. This can be a good choice in a strong economy, or maybe not the right fit if interest rates are expected to increase. ARM contracts specify what is called the adjustment period, which determines how often the mortgage interest rate changes. We know that no two mortgages are alike and can suggest the pros and cons of one type of loan over another. |
